Harikrishna, Ramesh face-off in Abu Dhabi chess

Abu Dhabi, August 20: Grandmaster P Harikrishna has a tough challenge
on hand as he plays with black pieces against compatriot GM R B
Ramesh in the sixth round of the Master’s section of the 14th Abu
Dhabi chess festival here.

In the nine-round tournament, Harikrishna, Ramesh and their fellow GM
Tejas Bakre share the joint sixth spot along with top seed GM Evgeny
Vladimirov of Kazakhstan, GM Marat Dzhumaev of Uzbekistan, GM
Artashes Minasian of Armenia and IM Imad Hakki of Syria.

The lead is shared by GMs Ashot Anastasian of Armenia, Ghaem Maghami
Ehsan of Iran, Pavel Kotsur of Kazkhstan and Russians Mikhail Kobalia
and Evgeny Gleizerov who all have four points from five games played
so far. Yesterday was the only rest day and the battle starts again
later this evening for the $16,000 prize money tournament.

Former Asian junior girls champion Tania Sachdev is gunning for her
second women Grandmaster norm and plays IM Neelotpal Das in the next
round.
