“Karabakhi population is to make the final decision over the Karabakhi
conflict. After all it’s the problem of that people. Everything
possible must be done in order that Karabakh partakes in the settlement
process”, Pierre Leluch, France Representative in NATO Parliamentary
Assembly and member of “Transitional Democracy Program” announced
in Yerevan.
He was reminded that the Armenian delegation as well made the
suggestion in PACE fall session to involve Karabakh in the Nagorno
Karabakh negotiations, which was rejected by CE.
Mr. Leluch explained the fact the international structures are guided
by the double standards with that PACE is a consulting body and a few
minutes before he had introduced his personal standpoint and not the
one of “Transitional Democracy Program”.
The delegation headed by Bruce Jackson, head of “Transitional Democracy
Program” finished the visit to the region with a press conference
in Yerevan.
Mr. Leluch stated the delegation was delighted with battle readiness
and cohesion of Karabakhi Army. He said Karabakhi conflict negatively
influences upon development in negotiating countries and the whole
region, especially the transport and energy spheres.
At the end Mr. Leluch assured henceforth Brussels and Washington will
be more actively occupied with the frozen conflicts.
