DEFENCE SPENDING TOPS ARMENIA’S 2004 BUDGET

The biggest portion of Armenia’s budget expenditure in 2004 (2.8 per
cent of the GDP) fell to defence, Arminfo has learnt from the Armenian
National Statistics Service.

According to the source, compared to 2003, defence spending grew by
18.4 per cent and totalled 52,476m drams (106m dollars).
