RUSIAN FILM WEEK TO LAUNCH

“My Stepbrother Frankenstein” film opened yesterday the Russian film week in
Armenia within the Days of Russian Federation. The head of the Department of
Cinematographers, Sergey Lazaruk, actors Daniel Spivakovski and Mikhail
Yevlanov arrived in Yerevan for this occasion and met students of the State
Institute of Cinema and Theatre yesterday.

Six most famous Russian films of recent years — “Our People”, “Butterflies’
Game”, “A Chauffeur for Vera”, “The Father”, “The Night is Light” — are to
be screened during the week. Sergey Lazaruk said yesterday at a press
conference in “Moscow” cinema that those are the films that received wide
coverage in Russian printed media. Concerning cooperation with Armenian
cinema workers, Lazaruk said that for the last 2 years they are reaching
agreements on joint programs. “We have learnt many things about Armenian
cinema from Atom Egoyan’s films”, he said.
