Istanbul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday [26
April] regarding the Armenian genocide claims that “if we have to face
the history, we will do it, but the others should do it as well”.

Prime Minister Erdogan, who attended the Economist Conferences held by
The Economist Group, referred to Armenian claims when asked a question
on the issue and denounced such claims.

“These claims are on the world agenda… We open all our state
archives and we want Armenians to open their state archives too. If
there are other states which have archives, they should also open
their archives… Nobody has the right to keep our ancestors under
suspicion,” Erdogan said.

Erdogan added that the decisions taken by the parliaments of some
countries supporting Armenians claims incited hatred in the world and
stressed that the future of the world should not be built on hatred.
