TURKISH STATE RESPONSIBLE FOR ARMENIAN GENOCIDE, SAYS PUBLIC SURVEY IN
ARMENIA
YEREVAN, APRIL 26. ARMINFO. The Turkish state as a whole is
responsible for the Armenian Genocide of 1915, say 61.1% of
respondents under a public survey by the Armenian Center for National
and Strategic Studies.
Center expert Stepan Safaryan says that questioned were 1,900 people
in Yerevan and regions.
54.8% say that responsible are Young Turks, 23% Turkish people, 13%
Russian Empire, 29% Keiser Germany, 6% England, 5% Jews and 6.5%
Armenians themselves.
32% say that the decisive role in the Armenian Genocide recognition
belongs to the whole Armenian nation, 31% world community and 8%
international organizations.
53% say that the biggest loss resulting from the Armenian Genocide is
people, 22% native Armenian lands.
73% believe that the Armenian Genocide recognition by Turkey and the
international community will allow the descendents of the Genocide
victims to return to their homeland, 32% that this will restore the
dignity of the Armenian people.
95% says that it is important to commemorate the Armenian Genocide
every Apr 24.
