Mayor of Zelenokumsk (Stavropol) Condemns Armenian Genocide

MAYOR OF ZELENOKUMSK (STAVROPOL REGION, RF) CONDEMNS ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
IN OTTOMAN TURKEY

STAVROPOL, APRIL 29. ARMINFO. Head of the Administration of the
Russian town of Zelenokumsk (Stavropol region) O.Kovaleva has
condemned the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915, the
newspaper of the Armenians of the South of Russia “Yerkramas” reports.

The message of the Mayor to the citizens on the occasion of the 90th
Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide in particular says that the
Turkish state has achieved its goal: some 10% of the native population
have remained in the historical Motherland of Armenians. The fact of
the genocide was recognized and the responsibility of Turkey for the
crime against humanity was properly established by the international
community when the crime was committed, the message says.

She says that the genocide caused a great damage to the spiritual and
material culture of the people. The grief of the Armenian people can
be best of all understood by the Russian people, Kovaleva thinks. She
says the civil war annihilated the Russian officials and the greatest
of part of priesthood; the intelligence was expelled from the
country. In the course of the great patriotic war the question was the
physical survival of the Russian people, that is why the pain of
Armenians is so close to us, she says.
