Political scientist Alexander Iskandaryan is convinced that
a revolution, anyway ideological one, will not take place in
Armenia. When responding to A1+ reporter’s question whether Armenia
is doomed to remain Russia’s outpost, the political scientist said,
“Outpost is a mere empty phrase. In fact Armenia is less dependent
on Russia than Georgia and Azerbaijan”.
“A Russian radiolocation station, which is larger than the Russian
military bases located in the South Caucasus all together, is
functioning in Azerbaijan. From the viewpoint of energy Georgia
depends on Russia and Armenia. Georgians are accelerating the process
of separation from Russia. The same cannot be said about Armenia. It
is not because Georgians are clever. It’s because Armenians do not like
drastic movements. Whatever we do, 20 years later we will have to hope
for other forces, which will make us launch a revolution”, he said.
