14429 VOTERS VOTE FOR TARON MARGARIAN, ONLY CANDIDATE FOR PREFECT OF
AVAN COMMUNITY OF YEREVAN

YEREVAN, MAY 23, NOYAN TAPAN. According to preliminary results of the
May 22 special elections of the Prefect of the Avan community,
Yerevan, 14429 voters voted for and 324 ones voted against the only
candidate, 27 years old Taron Margarian, a RAP member. 14927 people
from 35550 voters of the electoral district participated in the
vote. 217 ballot-papers were recognized invalid. The number of
falsities is 3. Gegham Hayrapetian, the Chairman of the No1 District
Electoral Commission informed the Noyan Tapan correspondent about
this. According to him, the elections were held met the requirements
of the Electoral Code, without any incidents and violations, so it is
of little possibility that application-complains are got till 14:00,
May 23. However, the Commission would sum up the results of the
election and adopt a decision concerning T.Margarian’s being elected
the Avan Prefect after the above-mentioned term is over.
