RINO HARNISH: BTC TO CONTRIBUTE TO BALANCE IN REGION

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ The putting of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) oil pipeline
into operation will contribute to the creation of balance in the region, US
Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rino Harnish stated when commenting on the
statement by Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian, who said that the
project will break the balance of forces in the region. In the opinion of
the US diplomat the BTD will contribute to the security of sovereignty and
territorial integrity of the Caucasian states (Azerbaijan and Georgia
implied) and lead to closer economic integration. `Thus, I consider that the
project will bring balance to the region’, Mr. Harnish resumed. To remind,
May 25 in Azerbaijan the loading ceremony of the first batch of oil to the
Azeri sector of the BTC took place, IA Regnum reports.
