A dilapidated car lies abandoned in an oilfield near Baku. Thanks to
the new 1,094-mile Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, which opened last week
and can transport a million barrels of oil a day, the impoverished
country is set to boost its income to almost pounds 4bn a year by
