86% of Yerevan Population Believes Mayor Should Be Directly Elected

86% OF YEREVAN POPULATION BELIEVES MAYOR OF YEREVAN SHOULD BE DIRECTLY
ELECTED

YEREVAN, August 9. /ARKA/. 86% of the Yerevan population believes that
the Mayor of Yerevan should be elected by the population through
direct elections, the public opinion study center Vox Populi reports.
The Center has conducted a survey through telephone inquiry of 684
inhabitants of Yerevan. According to the survey, 9% of respondents
believe that the Mayor should be appointed by the President or the
Prime Minister and 2% believe that he should be elected by the Council
of Elders of Yerevan. 3% of respondents found it difficult to respond
