AGBU FRANCE CAMP ATTRACTS OVER A HUNDRED CAMPERS FROM EIGHT COUNTRIES

Paris – The 23rd AGBU France summer camp is in full swing, bringing
together 140 Armenians, including 111 children, from eight countries
(France, England, Russia, Switzerland, USA, Turkey, Germany and
Bulgaria), for three weeks of sports and cultural activities in the
famed French Alps.

Campers are eagerly anticipating the July 15 Open House which will
welcome parents and friends to the campsite. During the special one-day
event, the children will present a musical and theatrical showcase
on the history of AGBU for guests who will be invited to tour the
campgrounds. The opening scene of the special Centennial performance
will reenact the first meeting between AGBU founder Boghos Nubar and
other AGBU pioneers as they announce the creation of the organization
on April 15, 1906. The French summer camp, known as Colonie de l’UGAB,
welcomes children between ages of 7 and 14 for three weeks of fun,
friendship and exposure to Armenian culture and history, in a relaxed,
family atmosphere. For older teenagers, AGBU France has organized a
discovery trip to Armenia from August 7 to 28, 2006.

Colonie de l’UGAB is one of AGBU’s many summer camps around the world
and serves children from France and abroad. Administered by AGBU France
District, Colonie de l’UGAB is AGBU’s largest European camp. For more
