Armenian nuclear plant resumes operation

Yerevan, 17 July: The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant was connected to
the country’s energy system the next day after disconnection.
The station was connected at 1344 local time [0844 gmt] on 15
July, the plant’s director-general, Gagik Markosyan, has told our
Arminfo correspondent. The capacity of the operating energy unit
was completely restored on the same day, he said.
To recap, the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant was disconnected from
the country’s energy system at 1023 local time [0523 gmt] on 14 July
because a false protection system had started operating.
No breaches of nuclear and radiation security have been revealed.
