Azerbaijan’s Defense Minister Safar Abiyev today received the
European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus Peter
Semneby. The Ministry press service told the APA Minister Abiyev
touched on Azerbaijan’s integration into Europe.

He also said some aims artificially caused the Armenia-Azerbaijan
conflict.

"Armenia has occupied Azerbaijani lands and on the other hand,
it intends to build mutual confidence with Azerbaijan. However,
we have no trust in Armenia. Since Armenia wants to build mutual
confidence, it should pull back its forces from the occupied
Azerbaijani territories, provide refugees and IDPs returning to
their native lands, and infrastructure should be restored in these
territories. This conflict should be resolved in the frames of the
territorial integrity of Azerbaijan," Mr.Abiyev said.

Mr.Semneby wished that conflict be resolved peacefully underlining
the European Union will make all efforts for the settlement of the
Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict./APA/

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
