FACTBOX-Evacuation of foreigners in Lebanon

More July 23 (Reuters) – Cyprus expects to take in nearly 10,000 more
fugitives from Lebanon on Sunday.

About 14 vessels are expected to dock at Larnaca and Limassol over
the next 30 hours.

Here are some facts on the evacuation, by country:

* UNITED NATIONS – A ship chartered by the United Nations evacuated
981 people from Tyre to Cyprus on Thursday.

* AFRICA:

EGYPT – Two planes took 202 Egyptians home on Thursday.

* SUDAN – About 1,500 Sudanese have taken buses to Damascus.

* ASIA & PACIFIC:

AUSTRALIA – About 7,500 Australians with dual nationality want to
leave. Australia has bussed 200 out via Syria. Chartered ship expected
to bring 500 to Larnaca late on Saturday.

BANGLADESH – Asked the International Organisation of Migration to
help evacuate its 10,000 citizens.

INDIA – Six hundred Indians arrived in Cyprus on Friday. Three Indian
naval vessels are expected to ferry 900 Indian citizens to Cyprus
by Monday.

KAZAKHSTAN – Evacuated 20 citizens. About 1,000 citizens of ex-Soviet
states have been evacuated so far, government said.

PAKISTAN – Evacuation planned of up to 300.

PHILIPPINES – About 250 Filipinos have arrived in Damascus.

SRI LANKA – Seeking to evacuate first batch of 200 migrant workers
out of an estimated 80,000.

* EUROPE:

ARMENIA – 400 people evacuated from Lebanon.

AUSTRIA – 223 evacuated by bus or boat, with another 26 wanting
to leave.

BELGIUM – Organised bus convoy to Aleppo in Syria for 185 nationals.

BRITAIN – 2,800 evacuated so far, 2,200 waiting to go. Britain gave its
citizens until Saturday evening to gather in Beirut for last scheduled
evacuation by sea. A ship with British evacuees was expected in Cyprus
early on Sunday.

BULGARIA – 226 Bulgarians arrived home from Lebanon on Thursday
and Friday.

DENMARK – 5,000 have been evacuated.

FRANCE – has evacuated 4,300 French nationals and 1,200 other people.
More than 2,000 have already been flown back to France. A chartered
ferry is to make a pickup on Sunday, supported by a warship. The
arrival of a helicopter carrier, the Mistral, is expected soon to
boost evacuation capabilities.

GERMANY – More than 4,600 have left. Germany has chartered a jet to
take Germans and other Europeans to Cyprus on Monday.

ITALY – About 600 evacuated so far.

NETHERLANDS – Buses carrying 125 Dutch evacuees left for Syria on
Thursday. Sending military helicopters to bring others home. About
130-140 citizens are in southern Lebanon.

NORWAY – Has evacuated 523 citizens. About 100 remain.

POLAND – Evacuated 214. Around 30 still there.

ROMANIA – 253 Romanians entered Syria by bus on Thursday and were
flown home. Around 770 Romanians have returned home, out of around
1,000 in Lebanon.

RUSSIA – 1,300 people brought home by air.

SPAIN – 539 Spaniards have flown home. More than 100 still in Lebanon.

SWEDEN – Has evacuated 6,400. 3,700 now home.

SWITZERLAND – Chartered ships expected to bring 400 Swiss to Larnaca
late on Saturday.

* AMERICAS:

BRAZIL – Organising convoys to take 1,000 citizens to Turkey.
Estimates 70,000 Brazilians still in Lebanon.

CANADA – Six vessels headed to Beirut on Thursday to continue
evacuation. Of the 50,000 Canadians in Lebanon, up to 10,000 could
want to leave. Chartered ships expected to bring 1,100 Canadians to
Larnaca late on Saturday.

MEXICO – 121 Mexicans were evacuated via Syria.

UNITED STATES – Two ships carrying nearly 2,000 Americans were due
to dock in Limassol on Sunday.

The Pentagon said the United States had evacuated 7,731 Americans as
of Saturday.

About 5,700 people were coming in on seven U.S. ships on Saturday
and the early hours of Sunday.
