INITIAL TALKS OVER THE MEETING OF ARMENIAN AND AZERBAIJANI FMs ARE HELD

Oskanian told today at a joint press conference with UNHCR High
Commissioner Antonio Gutteres that initial talks over the organization
of the meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers are
being held and at present the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group are
specifying with the sides the place and time of the meeting.
At the press conference Oskanian also said that the Armenian side has
not received new proposals from the co-chairs. After the meeting on
August 2 in Paris the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group Yuri Merzlyakov
(Russia), Bernard Fassier (France) and Matthew Bryza (United States of
America) stated that proceeding from the St Petersburg G8 Chairman’s
statement on Nagorno Karabakh, they considered different options
to achieve its objectives, which would be proposed to the parties,
and would wait for their thoughts.
At the press conference Gutteres said not being involved in the process
of the regulation of the Karabakh conflict, UN is interested in its
peaceful regulation.
