24TH OF APRIL PROCLAIMED MEMORIAL DAY OF ARMENIAN GENOCIDE IN CORDOBA ARGENTINEAN PROVINCE

YEREVAN, September 11. /ARKA/. According to the information provided
by the Press and Information Department of the RA Foreign Ministry,
on Wednesday the legislative body of Cordoba Argentinean province
unanimously approved a bill on proclaiming 24th of April memorial day
of Armenian Genocide, executed by Ottoman Turkey in 1915, in Cordoba.

The bill, the author of which is a member of the parliament,
representing Unification for the Sake of Cordoba fraction, Alexandra
Vigo, envisages lessons in Armenian Genocide in schools of Cordoba.

The document particularly notes, "The cruelty committed against
Armenia people by the Ottoman Empire and Turkish government before,
in the course of and by the end of the First World War, is called
Armenian Genocide".

The law will come into effect after it is approved by the Governor
of Cordoba in a 10-day period.

Such law already came into force in Buenos-Aires on June 2, 2006.
