FRENCH PROSECUTOR ASKS REJECTION OF APPLICATION OF ARMENIANS AGAINST TURKISH CONSUL GENERAL IN PARIS

PARIS – French prosecutor asked Paris Appellate Court to reject file
which was submitted by Armenians against Turkish Consul General in
Paris Aydin Sezgin.

The prosecutor asked rejection on the grounds that Sezgin has
diplomatic immunity as well as the freedom of expression in the
country.

Paris Appellate court will make a decision on October 11th.

Association of Armenian Case Defense earlier applied to the Paris 17th
Basic Criminal Department against Paris Consulate General’s official
web-site which included articles against so-called Armenian genocide
last year, but the Department rejected the application as Sezgin
has diplomatic immunity. In spite of the rejection, the Association
applied to the higher Paris Appellate Court.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
