HIS HOLINESS ARAM I PRAISES THE DEDICATION OF CILICIAN BROTHERHOOD MEMBERS

His Holiness Aram I highly praised the dedicated service of Cilician
Brotherhood members V. Rev. Fr. Meghrig Parikian and V. Rev. Fr. Krikor
Chiftjian, granting them the honour to wear the purple cloak henceforth.

V. Rev. Fr. Parikian currently serves as the pastor of the St. Asdvadzadzine
Church of Toronto in the diocese of Canada. V. Rev. Fr. Chiftjian is the
director of the Catholicosate of Cilicia’s Communications Department and the
editor of "Hasg", the official periodical of the Catholicosate of Cilicia.

In his Pontifical Encyclicals addressed to the two brotherhood members of
the Armenian Church, His Holiness commends their loyal dedication of over
two decades, adding that this bestowal would surely be an incentive to serve
the church with renewed commitment.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
