AN OFFICE FOR EDUCATIONAL AND ARMENOLOGICAL PROJECTS IS ESTABLISHED
IN ANTELIAS
The Catholicosate of Cilicia’s multifaceted mission was highlighted
particularly in the fields of educational, religious, Armenian
education and Armenological publications in the last few years. The
seminars and educational conferences that recently gathered various
Diaspora communities in Antelias, the meetings between educational
committees and the efforts to develop Armenian education have opened
up new horizons for the Catholicosate of Cilicia.
True to this commitment to preserve Armenian identity in foreign
countries, a special office to coordinate such projects was established
in Antelias with an official epistle from His Holiness Aram I and
the consent of the National Central Committee.
Prominent Lebanese Armenian intellectual and writer Sarkis Giragossian
has been appointed as the director of that office. He will also assume
full responsibility of the Armenian and literary teachings in the
Seminary of the Catholicosate of Cilicia.
The office will oversee and organize yearly conferences and
publications in various fields.
