LEADERS OF NEIGHBORING COUNTRIES SHOULD CONTACT ON DIPLOMATIC LEVEL RATHER THAN THROUGH MASS MEDIA: KOCHARIAN

The leader of neighboring countries should contact on diplomatic
level rather than through mass media, Armenian President Robert
Kocharyan said during a joint press-conference with French President
Jacques Chirac.

Kocharyan regrets that there are no such contacts today. Commenting
on his correspondence with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Edrogan,
Kocharyan said that in response to Erdogan’s offer to set up a joint
commissin of historians for inquring into the events of 1915, Kocharyan
proposed forming an inter-governmental commission for considering
all Armenian-Turkish problems including the possibility of setting up
the historical commission. But Erdogan has not answered his proposal
to date.
