EXHIBITION OF PHOTOS FEATURING DESTRUCTION OF JUGHA CEMETERY IN STRASBURG

The opening ceremony of the exhibition titled "Armenian Cultural
Legacy’s State in Nakhijevan" took place at the hall of Strasburg
Municipality yesterday.

Prior to the exhibition’s opening, Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan
Oskanian met Robert Grossman, Strasburg vice-mayor on cultural issues
and the head municipal community, after which the minister took part
in the opening ceremony making a speech before the invitees.

The exhibition arranged by Alsace Armenia Friendship French-Armenian
organization displayed photos featuring destruction of khachkars
(stone-cross) and tombstones of the Armenian cemetery in Jugha,
Nakhijevan. It was envisaged that Strasburg authorities,
representatives of the society, media and diplomatic missions
accredited in Strasburg will take part in the opening ceremony.
