ALL TERRITORIES OF NATURE OF ARMENIA BEING SPECIALLY PRESERVED TO BE USED FROM 2007 FOR ECOTOURISM AS WELL

YEREVAN, DECEMBER 28, NOYAN TAPAN. All the territories of the nature
of Armenia being specially preserved will be used from 2007 for
ecotourism as well.

Vardan Aivazian, the RA Minister of Nature Protection stated about
it at the December 27 press conference. "If in the past preseration
zones were free only for visitors with scientific purposes, then
from now on they will be accessible for everybody who wants," the
Minister mentioned. In his words, description and management plans
of borders of the "Dilijan" and "Sevan" national parks were worked
out and the ones of the "Khosrov" state preservation will also
be worked out in future. V.Aivazian mentioned that the territory
of the "Sevan" national park reduced 2400 hectares and at present
it makes 147 thousand 448 hectares. The territory of the "Dilijan"
national park makes 32 thousand hectares instead of former 28 thousand
hectares, and "Shikahogh" territory became 13 thousand hectares from
10 thousand ones.
