Representatives of the `Refugees and International Law’ NGO laid a
wreath of flowers at the memorial to the victims of the Baku massacres
in 1990, thus paying a tribute to the memory of innocent
victims. Representatives of NKR authorities and political parties, as
well as refugees that found asylum in Armenia were also participating
in the event.

Adviser to NKR President on Foreign Policy Issues Arman Melikyan
mentioned in his speech that the refugees residing in Armenia and
Nagorno Karabakh are currently taking concrete steps to defend their
rights, presenting demands to the authorities of Armenia, Nagorno
Karabakh and Azerbaijan.

In Arman Melikyan’s words, the main idea of these demands is the
return of territories of the security zone under NKR control to the
refugees as a ` reimbursement for the lost motherland and moral and
material loss.’ `I see logics here and I think that all layers of our
society should participate in this process with all their potential,’
said Arman Melikyan. He reminded that in the result of violence in
Baku more than half a million Armenians left Azerbaijan, 400 thousand
of which found shelter in Armenia and NKR. 200 thousand of them
migrated from Baku.
