HIGH PRICE LICENSES FOR NETWORK OPERATORS CUTS THEM DOWN
Yerevan, January 26. ArmInfo. High prices of license for network
operators can be the reason of cutting the number of the Internet
providers down, Grigory Saginyan, Technical Director of Armenian
largest provider ‘Arminco’ told ArmInfo correspondent.
The Public Services Regulatory Commission, based on the experience of
developed states internationally, will start new rules of exploitation
and installation of the networks. Having received a license of a
network operator, the company at once gains the same rights as cell
phone operators. The new prices depend on location of the services. For
example, the license in Yerevan will cost 2 mln AMD, instead of the
present 100 thnd AMD. Licensing in regions will cost 500 thnd AMD.
"Small providing companies, with about 50 users, will suffer of the
price growth. It is clear that additional costs on certification,
despite the network installation costs, in far away regions, is
commercially non-profitable business. Arminco tries hard to level down
license prices."
G. Saginyan sent an official letter to the Council of Support for
Development of IT at Premier Andranik Margaryan, requesting to revise
the issue. He also points out that high license prices will add to the
Internet costs.
