ALTERNATIVE’S MAIN GOAL IS TO OVERTHROW RULING REGIME

YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 5, NOYAN TAPAN. "For the sake of our children’s
future we will exterminate this beast – arbitrariness. We do not
need so-called elite Armenia. We need Armenia belonging to all
citizens." Nikol Pashinian, editor-in-chief of Haykakan Zhamanak
newspaper, representative of Alternative public-political initiative,
declared this at the February 3 meeting of the initiative.
In N.Pashinian’s words, the citizens of Armenia with their cowardice
and time-serving contributed to establishment of criminal-oligarch
regime in the country, formation of mercenary intelligentsia,
formation of atmosphere of arbitrariness and lawlessness. He stated
that the most important goal of the initiative is to save the country
from criminal-oligarch regime, to change the current situation. "Our
struggle is a struggle of ideas and not personalities.
Our goal is to form a movement, which will liquidate oligarches and
will return the things amassed by them by robbery to the people,"
N.Pashinian declared.
He called all those present at the meeting "for not looking for savers
among politicians, but in themselves."
In the words of another representative of Alternative, leader of
Democratic Homeland Party, Petros Makeyan, the ruling regime is not
supported by either the population or any of state institutions,
including army and Police. In his words, the regime’s only support
are "oligarches with their army of skin-heads." P.Makeyan said that
the might of the ruling regime is only seeming and the regime can be
exterminated if a right approach is shown.
Those speaking at the meeting called everybody for taking part in
the meeting of Alternative to be held on February 20 in Liberty Square.
