NEW YORK COMMITTEE FOR PROTECTION OF JOURNALISTS INCLUDED FACTS OF DEPRIVING YEREVAN "A1+" OF BROADCASTING AND ARREST OF NEWSPAPER’S EDITOR IN ITS ANNUAL REPORT
Yerevan, February 5. ArmInfo. The New York Committee for protection
of journalists has included the facts of depriving the "A1+" Yerevan
TV Company of broadcasting and the arrest of the "Zhamanak Yerevan"
newspaper’s Editor, Arman Babajanyan, in its annual report. As the
"Svoboda" Radio station informs, the report "Encroachment on Press"
has been published today.
To remind, the "A1+" oppositional TV Company had been deprived of
broadcasting in April, 2002. Since then, the TV Company unsuccessfully
tries to win the competitions held by the National TV and Radio
Commission. The Editor of "Zhamanak Yerevan" newspaper, Arman
Babajanyan, has been arrested in summer, 2006, accused of evasion
from the Army service and falsification of documents.
