ANKARA (A.A) -07.02.2007 -Head of a Turkish parliamentary committee
on foreign affairs said Wednesday that visit of a parliamentary
delegation to the USA was postponed.

Recalling that Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul was currently in the USA
and that Chief of General Staff Gen. Yasar Buyukanit was due to visit
this country later on, Mehmet Dulger stated that the delegation’s USA
visit was postponed in order to take sometime to assess the outcome
from Gul’s and Buyukanit’s talks with American officials.

Dulger set no specific timetable for the visit but said it would take
place soon, adding that three separate groups of Turkish legislators
would go the USA on different dates.

Dulger also underlined that the visits were not cancelled.

"We will go there and speak of our concerns," Dulger said.

"Particularly we will try to prevent the approval of a bill on
so-called Armenian allegations."

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
