VAZGEN MANUKAIN: GRADUATES OF CORRESPONDENCE COLLEGES WHO CAME TO
POWER IN ARMENIA HAVE MADE ARMENIA A "CORRESPONDENCE" COUNTRY FOR THE
WORLD
YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 9, NOYAN TAPAN. "I am repeating the rude expression
that I used with respect to the people who claim that there will be
free and fair elections," Vazgen Manukian, Chairman of the party
"Union of National Democrats" (UND), member of the RA National
Assembly "Justice" faction, stated at the parliamentary briefing on
February 9. He said that he does not understand why there was a
"hysteria" after this statement and the defence minister Serge
Sargsian gave a special interview about insulting him. To recap,
recently V. Manukian stated that those who speak about holding free
and fair parliamentary elections in May are idiots. Later, during an
interview to "Armenia" television channel, Serge Sargsian spoke about
this expression and V. Manukian’s political activities, hinting that
the latter was not able to "realize" himself.
According to V. Manukian, S. Sargsian knows very well that there have
been and will be electoral riggings becuase he himself was the
organizer of these riggings.
In the opinion of UNA chairman, what is now going on in Armenia does
not give any hopes of free and fair elections. In his words, there was
political power and some who "made use" of this power in the Soviet
time and when the Armenian All-National Movement was in power, whereas
today the power is made up only of the "international of those making
use of power in all times". These people think that all those who do
not "make use" are people who couldn’t "realize" themselves and dream
of becoming such "users". "In fact, this is what Serge Sargsian said,"
Vazgen Manukian concluded.
In his words, "graduates of correspondence colleges who came to power
in Armenia have made Armenia a "correspondence" country for the
world." He expressed the opinion that Armenia can receive from the
world one thousandth of what it could have received if there were a
normal state.
