GEORGIAN, GERMAN FOREIGN MINISTERS DISCUSS EU ROLE IN CONFLICT SETTLEMENT

[Presenter] Germany’s foreign minister is visiting Tbilisi. Frank
Walter Steinmeier is currently in a private meeting with his Georgian
counterpart.
During his two-day visit to Georgia the German official will meet the
president and prime minister. The main themes of discussion will be the
role of the European Union in the resolution of Georgia’s conflicts
and Germany’s position on Georgia’s membership of NATO. The German
foreign minister will leave Tbilisi for Yerevan.
[Bezhuashvili, speaking at a news conference] There was discussion of
private investment. We also spoke about what role Germany’s presidency
of the European Union will have and the EU’s agenda. We have a concrete
action plan, we have specific dates to meet our obligations and we
plan to do that in the period agreed with the European Commission.
