GEORGIAN SHIP HAS BEEN ARRESTED IN NOVOROSSIYSK

125 kg of steady radioactive substance has been found on Georgian
vessel which arrived in Novorossiysk. This information has been spread
by Russian news agencies.
Georgian ship was transporting cars. Russian Customs’ Service
officers had discovered six sacks full of ferrous details in one of
the autos. According to Customs’ Service information, radioactive
emanation per hour equals to 5 008 micro-roentgen. Such dimension is
664 times more than the natural radioactive limit.
Soon it became known that the owner of radioactive substance was
Armenian citizen. He directed to Moscow crossing Georgian port.
Armenian citizen states that he accidentally had found these sacks
in rubbish and took ferrous details for personal using.
The radioactive substance has been confiscated and it is already
neutralized. ‘Interfax’ announces that Armenian citizen will be fined
and if his accusation on contraband is proved he will be sentenced
to imprisonment.
