YEREVAN, FEBRUARY 26, NOYAN TAPAN. "For settlement of Nagorno Karabakh
conflict, it is too important that Armenian and Azerbaijani civil
societies start a dialogue and so, create the bases of conflict
settlement." Gunter Fichtner, Head of South Caucasian Coordinating
Office of Friedrich Ebert Fund, expressed such an opinion at the
February 26 presentation of the book "Nagorno Karabakh Conflict:
to Understand Each Other" published with Fund’s support. The book’s
authors – journalists Boris Navasardian, Arif Aliyev and experts
Stepan Grigorian and Rasim Musabekov, touched upon the settlement of
Nagorno Karabakh conflict trying to point out common verges in the
positions of the two sides. In B. Navasardian’s words, a questionnaire
consisting of ten questions was made up and the answers given to them
by Armenian and Azerbaijani experts not contradicted but complemented
one another. S. Grigorian added that R. Musabekov agrees to Armenian
side’s affirmation that opinions of NKR authorities should be taken
into consideration in the negotiations process.
