TURKISH FOREIGN MINISTRY SPOKESPERSON: THERE IS NO EXACT DECISION YET ABOUT YEREVAN-VAN CHARTER FLIGHT

ANKARA, MARCH 15, NOYAN TAPAN – ARMENIANS TODAY. Turkish Foreign
Ministry’s Spokesperson Levent Bilman stated at the March 14 press
conference that he has no information about the decision to organize a
Yerevan-Van charter flight in connection with the ceremony of opening
of Lake Van’s Akhtamar Church.

The Spokesperson stated that some work is being done in this direction,
but "no final decision has been made yet."

According to the Marmara daily of Istanbul, contrary to Bilman’s
"categoric statement," the circles of Turkish Foreign Ministry
mention that in connection with the ceremony of opening the church
the government wishes to temporarily open the land border door with
Armenia as an alternative to the charter flight.
