RUBEN KOCHAR AT SAME TIME WORKS ON TWO, "NAREK" AND "SUCH THINGS"

YEREVAN, APRIL 2, NOYAN TAPAN. Film director Ruben Kochar at the same
time works on two new, "Narek" and "Such Things" feature films of the
Armenian-American joint production. Shooting works of the director’s
"Such Things" film has already started with financing of the Blue Line
American film organization and the Film Critics’ Union of Armenia, and
the "Narek" film is still at the preparatory stage.

Ruben Kochar stated about it at the March 31 meeting at the "Urbat"
club. In the director’s words, consequences of films of a group of
famous directors, Luc Besson, Quentin Tarantino and others, on the
youth will be presented in the "Such Things" film. "The real life is
absent in those films, heroes communicate in the virtual world what
brings with it an unreal and confused state in their souls," the
author mentioned. Hovhannes Babakhanian will play one of the leading
parts of the film: it will be a role of a clergyman who also lost his
belief in the virtual life and left the church. R. Kochar mentioned
that works being done on the film will finish in this September, and
the premierre will take place in the U. S.

The director also stated that the "Narek" feature film is still at the
preparatory stage: the scenario is being changed, the actors’ staff is
not defined yet. "This film is of much importance for me as Grigor
Narekatsi is an exclusive phenomenon. His personaliy and works are a
guidebook for me. My goal is to present the mystery and importance of
Narekatsi’s belief in this word full of ordeals," the author said.

"Narek" will be shot in Armenia, and if it is possible in Turkey as
well.
