ABOUT ONE BILLION DOLLARS NEEDED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF IRAN-ARMENIA RAILWAY

YEREVAN, APRIL 4, NOYAN TAPAN. An investment of about one billion
dollars needs to be made for construction of the Iran-Armenia
railway. The RA Minister of Transport and Communication Andranik
Manukian told reporters that they are seeking investors for the
program’s implementation. According to the minister, thanks to this
program Armenia will have a direct link with Iran and countries of the
Middle East, thus becoming a transit country. Basides, the new railway
will be an alternative to the Kars-Akhalkalak railway to be built.
