THE COMMITTEE OF LEBANESE YOUTH

ASSOCIATIONS VISITS HIS HOLINESS

His Holiness Aram I received the committee of the Lebanese youth unions in
Antelias on April 14. The committee, headed by Mr. Paul Ayanian, informed
the Pontiff of the activities organized by the cooperative efforts of
Lebanese youth associations during the last few months. His Holiness praised
the cooperation between the various unions and their efforts to revive
Lebanese life.

The committee members and the Catholicos also discussed several problems
affecting Lebanon in light of the recent political developments in the
country. His Holiness considered cooperation between the various Lebanese
youth associations to have a positive impact on the strengthening of
inter-communal life. He advised the Lebanese youth to uphold Lebanon’s chief
interests above partite interests and remain committed to Lebanon’s
sovereignty and independence.
