AMERIA CONDUCTS BASELINE STUDY "GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE AND DISCRIMINATION AT WORK" AT REQUST OF UNDP

YEREVAN, MAY 2, NOYAN TAPAN. Ameria CJSC is contracted by United
Nations Development Program (UNDP) to conduct a baseline study
"Gender-Based Violence and Discrimination at Work". The full package
of study results and recommendations will be completed in May.
In February and March 2007, Ameria conducted a desk research on the
current situation with gender-based violence and discrimination
at the workplace, interviews among the broad sample of employers
and employees in all marzes of Armenia, survey of gender experts,
as well as analyzed current legal framework on gender-based issues
at the workplace, identified major disadvantages and constraints
to solve the issue, prepared a recommendation list on legislative
amendments and policy upgrade.
Rebecca Hakobyan, Ameria’s PR Manager, informed NT that the study
results will be submitted to the Armenian government for working out
the state policy with the aim of solution gender-based discrimination
problems in the Armenian labor market.
