ANM REFUSES FUTURE STRUGGLE IN THE NAME OF UNITY OF OPPOSING VOTERS

YEREVAN, MAY 2, NOYAN TAPAN. The ANM refused to participate in
the parliamentary elections in the name of unity of the opposing
voters. ANM Board Chairman Ararat Zurabian stated about it on April 30.
In his words, the political situation created in Armenia does not
cause doubt that the authorities will strive for reproduction at
any price what will negatively influence on the country. A. Zurabian
mentioned that the party would like to pass its votes to other forces
with which it did not exclude formation of an allinace before start
of the pre-electoral period. "I would like that these elections are
held in a normal way and we all concentrate on the future president’s
elections," Ararat Zurabian stated.
ANM Board members Aram Manukian and Hovhannes Igitian nominated by
the majoritarian electoral system stated that they will continue the
electoral struggle. In Aram Manukian’s words, other opposing forces
as well support him at electoral district No4.
