The repeated changes in the wording of the US State Department
report concerning Nagorno-Karabakh have discredited the role of the
US co-chair of the OSCE MG Matthew Bryza, says the speaker of the
Armenian parliament Tigran Torossyan.

"We should not take it seriously as the US State Department does
not take it seriously itself. One thing is clear – the status of
Nagorno-Karabakh does not depend on such documents," says Torossyan.

He says that the position of the US State Department casts shadow on
the co-chairs’ statements about early resolution of the conflict.

To remind, in the original version Nagorno-Karabakh was mentioned as
a territory occupied by Armenia. Following the demand of the Foreign
Ministry of Armenia, the US State Department changed the phrase,
but a few days later they returned to the original version.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
