The two telecoms operators of Armenia, ArmenTel and Vice Cell, have
revoked their mutual charges of unfair competition.

On Apr 28 they took back the written complaints they had earlier
filed to the Economic Rivalry Protection Committee.

To remind, K-Telecom with its Viva Cell trade mark charged ArmenTel
with dumping policies following the introduction of Family and Friends
service (27 AMD/minute tariff for a five-member group), while ArmenTel
charged K-Telecom with violating free and air competition following
the introduction of OPTIMA+ service for corporate clients.

Both companies have notified the Committee that they longer have
claims against each other.

ArmenTel Director General Oleg Bliznuk says that the conflict was
caused by difference in the companies’ tariff policies. Additional
calculations have shown that there was no dumping.

In his turn, the chairman of the Committee Ashot Shakhnazaryan says
that the companies must substantiate their decision or the Committee
may accuse them of collusion and violation of competition rules.
