PEOPLE HAVING GOT RICH AND NOT PAYING TAXES WILL ACCOUNT, ARAM KARAPETIAN STATES
Noyan Tapan

YEREVAN, MAY 2, NOYAN TAPAN. The May 1 preelection meeting of
representatives of Nor Zhamanakner (New Times) Party with Hrazdan
population started 30 minutes late. The reason was the concert
organized by the Bargavach Hayastan (Prosperous Armenia) Party preceded
by BH Chairman Gagik Tsarukian’s meeting with the same electorate. It
took NZP Chairman Aram Karapetian nearly 30 minutes to remind to the
local authorities that the party headed by him has an agreement to hold
a meeting at 14:00 in the same place. The meeting started, but only
after arrival of OSCE observers and the electricity supply was stopped.
A. Karapetian spoke without a microphone until the NZP’s equipment –
loud-speakers and amplifiers were brought.
A. Karapetian stated that they have to stop the concert and apologized
for it.
The NZP Chairman said that "those robbing the population of Hrazdan and
the whole Armenian people in general are engaged in cheating today"
and promised to publicize Gagik Tsarukian’s biography by Public
Television in the coming days. A. Karapetian said that the people
having got rich at the expense of robbing people will account one day:
both those losing money in gambling-houses and those not paying taxes
will be punished and imprisoned.
Touching upon the fact of BH’s organizing a concert at the hour
of his meeting, A. Karapetian said: "There will always be such
phenomena as long as we have Kocharian-Sargsian duet in Armenia." He
mentioned G. Tsarukian’s expression that he is ready to cooperate
with pro-Russian forces. "We are also a pro-Russian party and we
so how they cooperated with us," A. Karapetian said hinting at the
concert having impeded the meeting.
Representative of Bargavach Hayastan, resident of Hrazdan Gnel Galstian
starting an argument with A. Karapetian asked why A. Karapetian
"discredits Gagik Tsarukian." In response to this the NZP leader stated
that he says nothing dicrediting about G. Tsarukian, but "criticizes
the oligarch having merged with the criminal authorities." He explained
to those present the difference between the notions of "politician"
and "businessman." Politics, in A.
Karapetian’s words, "is not giving out something," but having exact
programs. He asked the young man, member of BH, how MP-BH members will
vote in the future, for instance, for the idea of Armenia’s joining
NATO or for announcing an impeachment to the President. "And how will
you vote?," Gnel Galstian answered the question with a question after
a minute’s silence.
