YEREVAN, MAY 2, NOYAN TAPAN. In the case of equal conditions of
the electoral struggle, the Zharangutiun (Heritage) party would get
absolute majority of the electors’ votes. Hovsep Khurshudian, the
Press Secretary of the pre-electoral office of the Zharangutiun party
stated about it at the May 1 briefing, adding that in conditions of
unequal electoral struggle, they expect to form relative majority at
the partliament.
H. Khurshudian mentioned that the quickly increasing rating of the
Zharangutiun party gives basis for coming to such a conclusion. He
expressed a hope that the party will get in Yerevan a bigger per cent
of votes than in the marzes. In Khurshudian’s words, the problem is
that, though the party has structures in all the marzes, but the
number of the Zharangutiun offices is bigger in Yerevan than in
marzes. Besides, "a thick bulk of intellectuals live in Yerevan."
H. Khurshudian disproved the rumours published in the Golos Armenii
(Voice of Armenia) and Hayots Ashkharh (Armenian World) newspapers,
according to which party leader Raffi Hovannisian was absent from
Armenia for about four months during the recent period of time,
having had by it not enough active participation in the innerpolitical
life. "How much we want to avoid so called "black PR," it does not
succeed," he mentioned.
