CONGRESSMEN REFUSED TO APPROVE EXPANSES FOR PLACING AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM IN EUROPE

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ U.S. House Subcommittee for Strategic Armaments
refused to approve expenses for placing an American air defense system
in Europe.

Subcommittee members unanimously voted against those expenses, totally
$160 million, which would cover costs for installing interceptor
missiles in Poland, Lenta.ru reports citing The Financial Times.

Earlier this year George Bush asked Congress to approve financing of
placing air defense elements in Europe, totally $310 million. Besides
placing 10 interceptor missiles in Poland this program supposes
construction of a radar station in Czech Republic.

Discussions over expenses are not over yet and they can be approved
by the full complement of U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate.
