REGISTRATION OF CITIZENS AT HEALTH CARE PRIMARY CIRCLE STARTS FROM
APRIL 1
YEREVAN, MAY 7, NOYAN TAPAN. The number of the population’s visits to
Yerevan polyclinics made 542 thousand in January-April of 2007. As
Armen Soghoyan, the Chief of the Yerevan Mayor’s Office Health Care
and Social Security Department stated at the May 7 press conference,
52 059 calls were registered at the Ambulance Service CJSC during the
mentioned 4 months. 4 482 children were born in 10 maternity hospitals
of the capital in January-April what is 4% more as if compared with
the same period of time of the previous year.
A. Soghoyan mentioned that some changes were made this year in the
health care primary circle of Yerevan: particularly, free medicine is
allocated starting from January of this year to children below 7,
instead of children below 3 fixed before. The Department Chief again
reminded that according to the order, only medicine prescribed by the
doctor is freely given to citizens.
A. Soghoyan stated that registration of citizens at the local
therapeutists’ and pediatricians’ was started at the health care
primary circle starting from April 1. In his words, it will give
possibility to found a data basis, digitizing complete information
concerning every citizen. The registration will last till October 1,
then the citizens will be able to choose their doctor and the
institution where they want to get medical assistance. By the way,
maximum 2300 citizens, minimum 1000 citizens may be registered at one
doctor’s.
The Department Chief stated that works of reconstruction at the Surb
Astsvatsamayr (Blessed Virgin) and Surb Grigor Lusavorich (Saint
Gregory the Illuminator) medical centers continue. Medical equipment
of 744 mln drams (about 2 mln U.S. dollars) will be placed in the Surb
Astvatsamayr medical center till June. Construction works of in total
275 bln drams will be done in the center. It was also mentioned that
it is envisaged to place equipment of 1.8 mln U.S. dollars at the Surb
Grigor Lusavorich medical center.
