Today is Yerkrapah Day. RA Defense Minister, Lieutenant-General Mikhael
Harutyuan issued a message to those volunteers who united to defend
the Motherland at a difficult point of its history.
The message says, in part:
Dear servicemen,
The festive events in the framework of the Yerkrapah Day comprise part
of the celebrations of the 15th anniversary of creation of the Armenian
Army. This is a nationwide holiday, which will be concluded tomorrow
with the celebration of the glorious victory of Shoushi liberation.
Dear soldiers, you pledged to return with victory and shaped this
victory in all the frons of the Artsakhi war. The rival yielded to
the strength of united power. The liberation of Shoushi was the first
in the row of glorious victories.
I congratulate you on Yerkrapah Day, the 15th anniversaries of creation
of the Army and the victory of Shoushi. You achieved this with
great devotion and at the expense of our killed friends. Probably,
the Motherland has not yet paid the due to you, but be sure that no
one has been forgotten and nothing has been forgotten.
I wish you endless strength of will for the sake of prosperity of
our state.
Once again I congratulate you on Yerkrapah Day and wish peace and
happy life to the whole Armenian nation.
Long live to the Armenians, who sacrificed their lives in the
national-liberation war, long live to the defenders of Motherland.
