Armenian Dram Appreciates by 1.4% Against US Dollar in April 2007

ARMENIAN DRAM APPRECIATES BY 1.4% AGAINST US DOLLAR IN APRIL 2007

YEREVAN, MAY 11, NOYAN TAPAN. A 0.3% decline in the settlement exchange
rate of the Armenian dram against the US dollar was registered in
parallel with the 2.1% growth of consumer prices in Armenia in April
2007 on December 2006. According to the RA National Statistical
Service, the growth in consumer prices and in the settlement exchange
rate made 3.1% and 0.1% respectively in the same period of last year.

0.1% and 1.4% growth in the settlement exchange rate of the Armenian
dram against consumer prices and the US dollar respectively was
registered in the country in April on March 2007.

In April 2007, the average settlement exchange rate of the Armenian
dram against the US dollar made 363.67 drams, which is by 19.2% lower
than the index of April 2006 (449.99 drams).
