The parliamentary election in Armenia have passed with mass breaches
of the electoral legislation, the "New Times" oppositional party
leader Aram Karapetyan told ArmInfo. According to him, tampering with
the voters, their transportation to the polling stations, as well as
voting with other’s passports were the most prevailing violations
during these election. As for the unexpected high percent of the
"Heritage" party, he said that maybe the point is that he is not
dangerous for Serzh Sargsyan as, legally, he cannot be nominated for
2008 presidential election, therefore, he was not impeded, the
political expert said.

Touching on the conclusion of international observers on voting, A.
Karapetyan noted that in view of the geopolitical problems in the
region, that is, the Iranian problem, Karabakh conflict settlement,
one should not be surprised if these conclusions are positive and the
CIS mission has already given its positive estimation, now it is the
turn of PACE and OSCE missions.

“I should like to see any power of the world destroy this race, this small tribe of unimportant people, whose wars have all been fought and lost, whose structures have crumbled, literature is unread, music is unheard, and prayers are no more answered. Go ahead, destroy Armenia . See if you can do it. Send them into the desert without bread or water. Burn their homes and churches. Then see if they will not laugh, sing and pray again. For when two of them meet anywhere in the world, see if they will not create a New Armenia.” - WS
