ORHAN PAMUK CONFERRED TITLE OF HONOURARY DOCTOR OF BRUSSELS CATHOLIC

BRUSSELS, MAY 11, NOYAN TAPAN. The Brussels Catholic University
conferred Turk writer, Nobel prize winner Orhan Pamuk a title of the
Honourary Doctor. According to the Milliyet daily, during the ceremony
organized at the University, University Rector, Doctor Professor Mark
Van Hoecke mentioned that he read with great pleasure books of Pamuk
translated into the Flemish language and added that owing to them, he
got enough much information about Istanbul. The Turk writer also made a
speech during the ceremony. He told about the difficulties he had
during his creative life.
