YEREVAN, MAY 15, NOYAN TAPAN. The ARF Dashnaktsutiun evaluates the
May 12 parliamentary elections as progress on the way of holding
democratic elections meeting international standards in Armenia. Armen
Rustamian, representative of ARFD Armenian Supreme Body, stated at the
May 15 press conference. At the same time, in his words, it should
be stated that we were not able to completely eliminate the vicious
phenomena, which have taken roots in the electoral processes, and to
prevent policy of some political forces of receiving votes through
voter buying.
A. Rustamian said that ARFD has received no proposal from parties
having received majority of votes about making a coalition. As he
affirmed, there will be no need to form a coalition, as "the force
having made majority in the parliament will rule alone." "We have
supported the President, have worked with that force (RPA: NT),
and will continue acting the same way," the representative of ARFD
Armenian Supreme Body stated.
In the words of ARFD Bureau member Vahan Hovhannisian, "those who
sold their seats in commissions failed." In his words, this failure
was a lesson for all those who "failed to unite due to their personal
ambitions."
